The Kite Killer

Public Enemy Number One
Have you heard the reports from Pakistan about the ban on kite flying? Seems citizens were killing each other while using glass-coated or metal kite strings to conduct kite duels during the spring festival of Basant. Seven deaths have been reported in the past two weeks, including a four-year-old boy. Hundreds of arrests have been made, as citizens ignore the ban, refusing to be grounded for their own good. Guess they need to plant some kite-eating trees.

Wouldn't they be better off cracking down on something really dangerous, like Maypoles? All sorts of opportunities for mayhem there. Not to mention gaiety.

Yes! I saw something about this in a Des Moines paper. Deadly kites. What a riot. Only, apparently, not. But still. A ban on kite flying?

Love the site. Love your posts. Can't remember how I got here, but maybe sitemeter can tell you whose blog referred me. Anyway, funny stuff, and I'll be back.
