Hello, Summer!

Whoo Hoo!

Just BASKING in the stifling heat of Chicago's heatwave!

The predictions are for a week of 90 degree plus weather, so I'm in my (sweaty) glory.

I really will try to post some this week; I know I have to finish my Vacation Story and have about ten thousand current events to address.

For now, I'd like to refer you to this great blog I've just discovered,
"Two Dykes and Their Cast of Thousands". Gotta love two gals who are trying to single-handedly destroy heterosexual marriage by blogging about their bliss. Not to mention their love of animals! (They have a bearded dragon and many other pets)

A very funny site that should be welcomed to the blogosphere.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I appreciate your kind words. And also for the link! You know I love your blog! Every time I get on, I go first to check our blog, then here, hoping for some more words of wisdom! You are the way I stay up on my current events!

I like the dykes next door blog. I would never have found it if they had not found yours. I guess that's what blogs are for? Not sure as I don't have one yet....Getalife girl has always been more entertaining than I. (I've only known her (and Mr Right) for over 30 years now. (Scarey I have to admit that too! In any case I am reading everything until one day when I break out and get my own blog!

Sorry I had to edit by reposting the last comment - just wanted to remove my name, as I am always concerned about present/future employers searching the blogosphere for my name and firing/not hiring me. Theoretically, it's illegal to discriminate against some one for their race, religion, etc. but of course employers find the net a real handy way to find out way too much about a job candidate.

If you have a horror story to share, please do! (Nothing like seeing that guy from the mailroom on MySpace or eHarmony...)

That's why I don't put my name on my blog or posts. I've been teaching a loooong time (31 years), and I don't want any trouble until I complete the next two years and probably retire. I'm not really sure if they would/could fire me, but they could make life pretty miserable for me. As it is I talk about my wife just like anyone else talks about their husbands and families. Everyone knows her (she comes by school sometimes), I just don't say that she is my wife. It's funny that since we have both been married, and I have a child, no one suspects that we could be lesbians. Plus the fact that neither of us really look like what people think dykes look like. She is out at work, but not to her only relative (her 80 year old aunt). She is her aunt's only family also, so it wouldn't be good for her aunt to be estranged and feel like she is all alone in the world. We know how her aunt feels about gay people, and we figure that there isn't any reason to upset an old person, so we will never tell her. As it is, her aunt likes me, and is glad that my wife has someone to help her out and share the bills, etc. We do Christmas and birthdays and such as that all together, and it's no big deal. I don't think that anyone would come looking to see if I have a blog, but I still want to be careful. After I retire, I will probably come on out. But for now...no.
