Observes, Leaves, and Blogs

Enjoyed a long walk on a sticky summer night with the dog this evening, and came across one of those cutsie little signs that said “Matt’s Party” with a few festive balloons and an arrow pointing the way. As it was on our route, we soon passed the celebration. Held down a secluded dirt road on about a five acre plot, I could hear young people playing volleyball while a rock band warmed up. How nice, a big party for a graduation, I thought. Then I saw the second sign.

This one was hung on the mailbox across from the driveway in question. It too was created with magic markers and had some balloons tied behind it. This one said “Matt’s Party Your There”. Now granted, Matt may have just graduated preschool, for all I know. But I do know one thing. He should be so ashamed of that sign, whether he created it or failed to correct it, that he should give his diploma back.

For what it’s worth: Senator
Barack Obama will meet an untimely end before the next presidential election. Let’s face it; he’s the only thing standing between Hillary and a nod for the Democratic presidential candidate nomination. Remember what happened to JFK, Jr.?
